Admission criteria

Documents for application, maximum number of graduate students, list of advisors, criteria for Curriculum Vitae evaluation, grades and exam final grade average for acceptance, specific topics and references for the written examinations will be informed in a specific publication by the State of São Paulo Official Press at least one month prior to the written examination. The list of necessary documents for application in the doctoral program and the list of advisors are available at the Program´s website as well as in the Graduate Studies Office of the Institute of Geosciences.

Master´s Program

Application for the Program is open twice a year and is based on the applicant´s performance in the written General Geology exam and on the specific subject exam pertaining to the area chosen and specified in the application form.

Doctoral Program

Candidates´application is open all year round under the following procedures:

a) Evaluation by an external reviewer of the proposed research project, the candidate´s and the advisor´s Curriculum Vitae.

b) Interview with member of the CCP (minimum of three members, including the Program´s Coordinator or his/her substitute member) on the proposed research project, the candidate´s academic undergraduate and graduate records.

Direct Doctoral Program

Undergraduate candidates with high academic performance or with written entrance examinations  final grade above 8.0 (eight) may apply for the Direct Doctoral Program, followed by:

a). Evaluation by an external reviewer of the proposed research project, the candidate´s and the advisor´s Curriculum Vitae.

b). Interview with member of the CCP (minimum of three members, including the Program´s Coordinator or his/her substitute member) on the proposed research project, the candidate´s academic undergraduate and graduate records.
