Ideally, contact the laboratory prior to sample collection to inform site location and type of sediment, and to consult on sampling and luminescence analysis strategy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When results produced at LEGAL are being published, proper acknowledgment must be included in the \u201cMaterials and Methods\u201d section of the publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"sample-collection\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Sample collection:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Sampling for luminescence dating must be in accordance to the following procedure: <a href=\"http:\/\/igc.usp.br\/legal\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/22\/2022\/07\/OSL-sampling-instructions.pdf\">OSL Sampling Protocol<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"registration-for-dosimeter\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Registration for dosimeter:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>All users must have their own dosimeter while attending our facilities. The dosimeters must be requested in advance, and it is necessary to have a brazilian CPF number for the registration. Foreigners can also obtain a CPF number (<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/servicos.receita.fazenda.gov.br\/Servicos\/CPF\/InscricaoCpfEstrangeiro\/default.asp\" target=\"_blank\">click here<\/a>). Once you are scheduled to use the lab, send the copy of your CPF to <em>legal@usp.br<\/em> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"user-registration\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>User registration:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Fill out the registration form for each batch of samples: <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSeJ2oei0FcUm7d4J9fQsYot2A5ZgW_xUoZos6SI-u6BE-tzAg\/viewform\" target=\"_blank\">Sample Registration Form<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-transform:none\"><strong>Sample preparation protocols:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>OSL dating is routinely performed on quartz or feldspar grains in sand (63 &#8211; 250 \u00b5m) or fine silt fraction (entre 4 e 11 \u00b5m).
